"Becoming a full-time data scientist at Invisible is the greatest thing I’ve accomplished in my life so far."
Meet Ai (pronounced ‘’Eye’’), a Data Scientist and coding bootcamp teacher who joined us 4 months ago.
We caught up with her to learn what makes her a unique member of our team!
I live in Houston, Texas. However, my boyfriend and I are planning to move in the near future.
I am a Vietnamese-American woman named Ai (pronounced "EYE"). I formally studied mathematics, but my professional focus is now in AI and Machine Learning.
I have a lot of hobbies! To start my workday, I often drink loose leaf tea "grandpa-style" (see here).
My current stash includes teas like Taiwanese oolongs and aged sheng puer. During work Zoom meetings, I like using high quality audio equipment such as an IEM (in-ear monitor) and an SDC (small diaphragm condenser) microphone.
As for how I enjoy my weekends, I’ve been playing video games like Celeste, Void Terrarium, NieR:Automata, Hollow Knight, and The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening.
I was a "teaching fellow" for a coding bootcamp. I taught classes in full-stack web development (e.g. JavaScript, React, Angular, Java, Spring Boot, Git, and GitHub) and basic data science / analytics (e.g. R, SQLite, Git and GitHub, Python, Pandas, Matplotlib, and scikit-learn). You can find the base curriculum for the data science course in this GitHub repo here. You can also access new content I made for the course here!
Invisible had an open opportunity for a role that specifically wanted applicants with a strong math background. It seemed like a good fit for me!

I have only been here for a few months, but I’ve been growing and learning a lot each day! Things happen really fast at Invisible, so it's easier to just enjoy them in the moment!
Becoming a full-time data scientist at Invisible is the greatest thing I’ve accomplished in my life so far, and I’ll work hard to make a significant contribution to the rapidly developing AI / ML space.
Invisible is a fast-paced, business-oriented workplace that treats its employees well. It is also a uniquely 100% remote organization. We have no office buildings as far as I’m aware of, and everyone from agents to partners work remotely.
Invisible is 100% remote and it has the potential to grow immensely in the new AI / ML era! Individuals also have the potential to acquire a huge competitive advantage in the emerging AI / ML job market due to access to tech that employees at other, well-established companies do not have access to.
Invisible is a fast-paced, business-oriented workplace that treats its employees well.
Thank you for being an integral part of our team, Ai!
